2 Dead, 4 Injured in Sagamu-Benin expressway crash

A speeding passenger bus collided with a truck early Monday morning on the Sagamu-Benin Expressway, killing two people and injuring four others.

The crash, which occurred in the early hour this morning , an unregistered Howo truck and a Toyota Hiace bus (BEN 823 ZW).

Authorities believe the bus driver lost control due to excessive speed, causing the collision.

A total of 20 people were on board the bus, including 15 males and five females.

The injured were taken to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) for treatment, while the remains of the deceased were also deposited at the OOUTH morgue.

The Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) spokesperson, Babatunde Akinbiyi, urged drivers to exercise caution and avoid speeding on the expressway.
