World Record holder, Tobi Amusan on Wednesday morning reached the semifinals of the women's 100m hurdles
The former world champion in the hurdles finished in first place with an impressive time of 12.49s despite being seeded in lane 9 of the Heat 1.
Alaysha Johnson was 2nd in 12.61s while Janeek Brown placed 3rd with a time of 12.84s.

This is Amusan’s third consecutive Olympic Games and her third time making the semifinals.
Amusan's semifinals qualification bodes good tidings for Team Nigeria as the country are yet to post a medal on the table.
